The Expected Journey :
Manokwari is located in West Papua Province. This region is offering lots of things to discover and experience, such birding in Arfak mountains. if you are a naturalist or wildlife lover then Arfak is such a suitable place for you to visit. There are so many endemic species and wildlife you can discover and watch over Arfak Mountains. In this rainforest of Arfak mountain, you will discover some of endemic bird species (suchseveral species of the birds of paradise) that inhabit in Arfak rainforest.
Yet you will also have a chance to meet, share and experience the culture of Arfak highlander people at Mokwam Area. To get to Arfak usualy it takes about an 1.5 hour drive from the city of Manokwari via 4×4 off road car and to reach the birding spot we will take a walk in between 30 – 1 hour more depending on your phycical condition. During the birding walks the local helper/naturalist/helpers will guide and show us around till we get back to Manokwari.

Tour Itinerary :
Day 01. Sorong / Jakarta - Manokwari City
Upon arrival, meet your guide or with your guide proceed to your booked hotel. check in and do check and recheck the logistics on your side and our preparation for the next driving tour to the Arfak mountain.
Free afternoon relaxing wait for dinner.
Day 02. Manokwari - Arfak Mountain
After breakfast, we will start the adventure to Arfak mountainb via 4×4 Off Road car. It takes us 1-2 hours drive. We will not keep driving but we will stop by at some points for a break and do birding on the way or enjoy the nature.
Upon arrival at the village of Mokwam region, meet local helper and we will continue do check in at your accommodation. Free afternoon, we will have a short briefing for tomorrow activities ( Birding ) with local naturalist/helper to discuss more about the possiblity that we can do during the birding tours each day including talking about night wildlife watching.
Dinner will be prepared at your Acc.
Day 03-04. Birding Tours
After breakfast, we will start take a walk in to the rainforest for birding. There are some endemic species of the bird we can see here at diffrent spots but the targeted birds would be; Western Parotia, Magnificent Bird of Paradise and the Supurb Bird of Paradise ( If we are lucky ) because sometimes its difficult to be appeared.
Note : We can not make a deal in adavnace with the nature and the wildlife so try to be open minded and be more optimist to expect and accept the things that might happen anytime during the tours, such; Bad weather, natural disaster, and also with something unexpected things.
We can do the night excrusion around the village for a short walk to discover some wildlife if you are interested and still fit to do more excrusion during the night time.
Day 05. Arfak - Manokwari
After breakfast, we will catch our 4×4 Off Road car drive back to Manokwaro city. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and free afternoon, relaxing or we can do the check and list them on a birds diary book to count the birds we have seen during the tours.
Dinner at the local resto at down town.
Day 06. Manokwari - Sorong/ Jakarta
After breakfast, take a short transfer to the airport, check in and take a flight to Sorong and Jakarta or take a direct flight to Manado and Jakarta.
